Franklin – Suburb Profile


With the imminent completion of phase one of Canberra’s light rail system Franklin will reap the benefits of the new transportation corridor in Canberra’s North. Not only is Franklin prime real estate when it comes to the light rail it is fast becoming a self-sufficient suburb with the fabulous additions to the Franklin shopping precinct.

The Franklin shops not only has a very convenient Woolworths and BWS there are also specialty grocery stores with the recent addition of an Asian Grocer, a hair dresser, the delicious Meadows frozen custard, a GP surgery and coffee and numerous takeaway stores.

For those who like to stay fit and healthy the local area also boasts a number of personal trainers, gyms and the increasingly popular F45 and Curves for Women.

Franklin is lucky to have a number of local parks, ponds and wildlife. The Franklin Early Childhood School caters to children from preschool to year two and is conveniently located in the center of Franklin.

Franklin is also located in the catchment area for the Harrison School. The Harrison School is one of Canberra’s many super schools, which caters to students from preschool right through to year 10.
